This long time favorite in Point Pleasant serves basic Spanish/Portuguese food. They serve the standard dishes found in most Portuguese restaurants. The decor is stale, dimly lit, and has not been upgraded since the restaurants opened many years ago. A reason to come to here is for a festive occasion where you can enjoy a Spanish/Portuguese meal with live entertainment from a one-man band on his electric keyboard creating sounds of a five-piece Latin band. The portions are generous and seafood dominates the menu. For starters try the Shrimp marinated in a hearty garlic sauce and olive oil; Clams Casino, or the Clams Portuguese, cooked in a white-wine-and-olive-oil broth spiked with garlic and cilantro. Suggested entrees include; Paella Valenciana with chicken, chorizo, shrimp, scallops, calamari, lobster, clams, mussels and saffron rice; Shrimp Alfonso XIII a shrimp flambéed in brandy with mushrooms; and the Portuguese filet mignon, served with ham and olives in a garlic and wine sauce Desserts are nothing special and are in line with their other dishes. The service is attentive and friendly Good place to take children, the kids menu has many selections |
