Restaurant Review

Dock's Oyster House is Atlantic City's oldest restaurant and an institution since 1897, with a longtime following of diners who enjoy well prepared, fresh sea food.

This is the best seafood restaurant in Atlantic City and a go to place for sea food lovers.

Owned by the Dougherty family who also owns the Knife and Fork and Harry's Oyster Bar in Atlantic City.

In 2016, the restaurant completed a renovation and expansion. Seating has doubled with dining on two floors, including a private dining room on the second level. With the added space, tables are now spaced comfortably apart for quiet conversation.

The bar has been expanded, while still maintaining the raw bar and the piano bar. The kitchen has also been renovated and expanded to include many improved, modern features.

Overall, the interior is attractively decorated with a modern, classic oyster bar feel and maritime touches that provide an upscale Jersey Shore fine dining experience.

Located away from the bustling casinos, you can drive up with free parking and enjoy dining in a relaxed environment.

They have a good variety of traditional seafood dishes that feature soft-shell crabs, lobster and seafood platters. They are also known for their excellent oyster raw bar.

Be prepared for a long wait for a table at peak times..

The service is professional, friendly, and attentive.

How Do We Review (analyze) Restaurants?

New Jersey Leisure Guide strives to provide objective restaurant reviews .

The methodology used is research, analysis driven --- as opposed to that of a single restaurant critic or a viewer comment posting board.

Data is gathered from our viewers e-mail restaurant comments, Internet research, and professional restaurant critics. The data is sorted, (weeding out the obvious biased, "bone to pick",  and out of consensus comments), analyzed, and the review is created.
