This southern Italian restaurant is a long time favorite with the "Italian power scene" and loyal customers who are seeking well prepared cuisine, old world charm, and special attention in Jersey City's best southern Italian restaurant. Located next to the PATH train station and barely visible from the street, it has recently been renovated to a more contemporary interior to become a step up in decor from the other local restaurants of this generation. Dining here is a festive experience with live music and dancing, complimenting good food. The hot and cold appetizers are creative preparations and offer a large variety to choose from. The entrees are a bit more traditional with the classic "red gravy" pastas, grilled beef and lamb, and Italian style veal, seafood and chicken gracing the menu. It's in chef Freda's preparation that set's their food apart from the others. The more creative preparations can be found in the specials which changes daily. They have an extensive wine cellar to compliment the large variety of food types on the menu. The desserts are not as impressive though. |
