Campgaw Mountain New Jersey Snow Sports in Mahwah, NJ

Campgaw Mountain is a very small mountain ideally suited for families with kids and beginners with an interest in skiing, tubing and snow boarding. The prices are reasonable with activities for kids of all ages. More advanced skiers will not find it challenging.

They are the closest ski area to New York City, located in Mahwah, Bergen County, 18 miles north of the George Washington Bridge.

Features: Night Skiing, Snow boarding & Snow Tubing, Freestyle Terrain Park , Two ‘Magic Carpet’ Conveyer Lifts, Two Double Chair lifts, Six 800 ft. Snow Tubing Runs with Two Surface Lifts, 100% Snow making Capabilities, Specialized Children's Program for Youngsters ages 4-6, Five Beginner/Intermediate Trails, Seasonal and Daily Ski/Snow board Rentals and Daily Helmet Rentals.

They also offer a "Little Rippers", a 3-week ski and snowboard program for children 4-6 years of age. Lessons are 1-½ hours long, for three ability levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. The level chosen will be taught for entire 3 week period.

Campgaw is owned by Bergen County and offers discount rates for residents.

Campgaw Mountain 2011/12 ticket rates

CampGaw Mountain, using RFID (Radio Frequency ID) technology offers hourly passes in increments of 4, 6 or 8 hours. Time begins when you decide to hit the gates and take your 1st run. A one-time $5 fee is required for a MightyGaw PasSport.

Weekdays: 4 Hour $18.00, 6 Hour $23.00, 8 Hour* $26.00 (*Fridays only)

Weekend/Holidays: 4 Hour $30.00; 8 Hour $36.0; Twilight* $22.00 (*After 5pm)

Bergen County residents with a valid Bergen County Resident Card, and all citizens age 65 and older, receive lift ticket and rental rates reflecting a 20% discount. The County Card may be purchased at Campgaw's customer service desk during business hours. Each card is valid for the entire family for one calendar year. Card cost is $12.00

Unlimited Season Pass are offered for Skiing and Boarding. Purchase before October 1st: Adults $199, Children$150 ; Before December 1st; Adults $229, Children $170; After December 1st; Adults $275, Children $205.
