This restaurant should feel very comfortable and familiar to Philadelphians as eating here is like eating in South Philly with all the Philly slang and vibes you find in South Philly.
No surprise here as this restaurant has been relocated from its previous location on South 9th Street in the Italian section of South Philly by owners
Giovanni (chef) and Bernadino Varallo.
The interior with over 20 tables over a tiled floor is attractively done up with walls of pink stucco and white wainscoting adorned by decorative plates and paintings of Italian scenes.
However, the acoustics are poor and when the dining room is full the noise level can be deadening and quiet conversation nearly impossible.
Servers at Io E Tu are dressed in black and are very attentive and friendly with with a touch of Phiily expressions.
They are kid friendly and offer a good children's menu.
