New Jersey Leisure guide is the largest single source of complete and impartial New Jersey restaurant reviews. Unlike other sources that review restaurants on the basis of a single visit by a restaurant critic, or on the basis of restaurant diners, our restaurant ratings and reviews take into account a wider audience and are the result of a compilation of many sources, including restaurant critics and diners who have eaten there. Restaurant Review |
|||||||||||||||
This new restaurant opened under new management in June, 2009 at the location formerly known as South Street Victorian. While it is too early to give an accurate rating of the restaurant until the bugs have been worked out and more dining patron reports have come in, this rating and review can be considered preliminary. Owned and operated by Cafe Enterprises, the same owners and executive chef as Cafe Colore, this BYOB offers a fine dining experience in an elegant 150 year old Victorian mansion. You can dine in a choice of four charming and cozy dining rooms, each with a different motif, from a room with 5 tables to a private dining room for a large private party. The decor is attractively done up in soft earth tones, with walls adorned with victorian estate pictures, dark brown floor carpeting, tables set with matching linen. However, the menu at The Inn at 75 South is limited and un-inspiring, and the food preparation and ingredients fail to distinguish from the many other Freehold area restaurants. When available, for starters try the Pork Beggars Purse, pulled pork with Vermont Cheddar, celery root slaw, and sweet onion BBQ sauce. When available, for dinner entrees, try the 10 oz Filet Mignon; or the 16 oz Cowboy Rib eye; or the Roasted Free Range Chicken Breast with leeks, potato confit, roasted shitake mushrooms, and chicken jus.
