Restaurant Review

26 West on the Navesink is popular with diners who enjoy fresh coastal cuisine in a trendy, scenic waterfront setting.

Opened in June, 2017, this Nantucket Yacht Club themed restaurant is owned and operated by Vince Gifford and Gregory Milano and daughter Mikaela, have teamed up with Executive Chef Meg LaManna to introduce a welcomed addition to the Red bank dining scene.

Chef LaManna received her formal culinary education at the Culinary Education Center in Asbury Park. Her restaurant credentials include working in the kitchens Tao in New York City & Bonefish grill in Brick town, 709 in Pt Pleasant, and several Florida restaurants including the Mandarin Oriental in Miami, Fl. Prior to coming to 26 West, Chef LaManna ran the kitchen at The Garden at GVP in North Bay Village, FL.

Chef Lamanna serves a seasonally changing menu that features creative preparations of seafood oriented, coastal cuisine using locally sourced ingredients with emphasis on organic micro-greens, and hormone free meats. The menu includes homemade pastas, an extensive raw bar, and a sampling vegetarian dishes.

The interior is attractively done up with a tasteful blue and white nautical theme and scenic views of the Navesink River and Marina. The industrial, exposed ceiling interior includes the main dining area with views looking out through windows on large industrial garage doors that open up during the warmer months. Tables are set with linen, fine China, and wine glasses etched with "26 West."
There are two attractive full service bars; The front bar is more conducive to quiet conversation. The back bar is much more vibrant and features a scenic view of the Navesink River.

Wait staff is friendly and professional.

They are family friendly with a selection of kids dishes.

How Do We Review (analyze) Restaurants?

New Jersey Leisure Guide strives to provide objective restaurant reviews .

The methodology used is research, analysis driven --- as opposed to that of a single restaurant critic or a viewer comment posting board.

Data is gathered from our viewers e-mail restaurant comments, Internet research, and professional restaurant critics. The data is sorted, (weeding out the obvious biased, "bone to pick",  and out of consensus comments), analyzed, and the review is created.
